Keep it up Reese! I will put gonestraw.org on our site and encourage all to see what you are trying to accomplish. It will all work out, you have worked too damn hard for it not too, the place is amazing!

That video of the Exxon exec telling the crowd that the oil spill was an opportunity is down right scary and stuff like that still happens all the time. You're either a sheep and listen to garbage like that or do something about it.
Here is a great link I had forwarded to me on a Syracuse couple who built a beautiful off-grid, strawbale home.... http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2009/03/madison_county_couple_lives_gr.html
Sounds like sustainable greenism for rich people. Better than nothing I guess.
I want to do the worm composter too...Lindsay did it as well and I think that will be a good weekend project. Your site is great...we will be posting a ton more contacts including yours to our new site. Keep up the great work and hope to see you n...

An interesting article to start a discussion

This was an interesting article my brother sent to me. This could already be or start to have an effect on Rochester area business and residential complexes.

Is LEED certification helping or hurting the green movement?!

Me personally, I think LEED has good intentions but is far from what the desired outcome should be. I recently saw a documentary called, 'greening Southie' which shows the process a construction company goes through to achieve a LEED gold, luxury apartment complex in South Boston, MA. The movie showed all the green products going into the building (dual flush toilets, sustainably harvested lumber, non-formaldehyde glues, low VOC paint, ect) but they were shipped and trucked in from all over the… Continue

Hi Peter
Thank you, I still have a ton of work to do on the site. I have 8 or 9 different barrels that can be used for so many things. I have a hard time keeping up with all of the postings and what to write about next. For the video, Rob Nelk and myself have been working on that, but are having video recording problems. We are working on that and should have it fixed very shortly. I think adding the video links would be great and I will add your site to mine as well. Please feel free to do the same. We are working on moving into a new building. Trying to bring the warehouse and office into one central location. With the new location I would like to have a monthly "How to" classes on rain barrels and composting ideas etc. Like me know if there is anything I can do.
Thanks again

Hi Peter, it's nice to be conected and to see how Green the World conscience is turning. I live in Sintra-Portugal, and there's too much work to do in here, in terms of GHG management systems under the Quioto Protocol, only heavy industrys are included, I'm increasing my training in this issue to propose the implementation of GHGmanag. Systems in small/medium size office companies...but it's a dificult market due to the non legal obligation of this matter in this kind of companies....

Are you running a farm out in Batavia or just bringing harvest back into Rochester?

If anyone needs strawberry plants I will have plenty of extras from my bed this spring.

I hope to be able to make it to the next gathering.

If any other members are interested in joining the MudCreek Farm perhaps we can work out a situation where we take turns picking up shares and bringing them back to a local spot so everyone doesn't have to travel to Victor.

Hi Peter,

Wanted to introduce myself- AC called me a couple of weeks ago about the USC you are driving. Dave Vail mentioned RGL to me months ago but I haven't pursued. I've been busy getting Permaculture certification (June) and teaching in Hancock, NY. I will be at the Oct. 29 and introduce myself in person.
