We're doing some great things out here in California...don't be discouraged, a New Revolution is growing!

Here is a great link I had forwarded to me on a Syracuse couple who built a beautiful off-grid, strawbale home....

Building with straw is the most sustainable act of kindness you can do for the environment. Your taking something that feeds you and then using its bi-product to build you shelter. Seems very harmonious.

Since attending a number of recent green networking events as of late, I have heard many rumblings of opportunities to present strawbale workshops and build strawbale structures and would definitely like to explore these endeavors. If anyone out there has land to build on, interest in strawbale building, know someone who does let me know....that's what this group is all about.

A few months ago I was speaking with city of Rochester building and code officials about the benefits of building with strawbales. They were VERY open to the idea and just state that as long as it is safe and adheres to the local building codes it's something they would encourage. I have created this short power point presentation for anyone's review. If you have any pics of strawable homes, suggestions or topics to include please let me know. I plan to utilize this presentation on a number of upcoming events. Here is the link:

I will be on the hunt for some of those codes and will talk with Dave Vail. FYI - there is a one acre lot in Rush for sale that Valyceum Holdings is selling with the hopes that the buyer will build with strawbales...we are offering the building expertise through Dave Vail. If anyone is interested call me at 585 200 0526. Thanks
